About BOSS
BOSS is a club comprised of home brewing hobbyists, beerbrewers, mead makers, cider makers, beer judges, and all those who appreciate fine beverages containing alcohol.
You do not need to be a homebrewer to become a member of BOSS. Our meetings are held once a month in club member's homes or at local brewpubs around the Southwest Chicago Suburbs.
We have members from Joliet to Crown Point and Hyde Park to Kankakee.
In addition, we host an annual homebrew competition, an annual club picnic in September, and a holiday party in December.
We have an email listserv to connect with the greater BOSS community and a private, member’s only Facebook group.
In either spot our members can share their knowledge of various brewing techniques and their enthusiasm for the craft.
Everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a member of BOSS to join the mailing list.
To subscribe to the mailing list, send an email to BossBeer+subscribe@googlegroups.com
If you have never brewed beer or made mead / hard cider, but are interested in learning how, or if you have been brewing for years, consider joining our club.
Our membership ranges in experience from beginning brewers to commercial craft brewers. All levels of experience are welcome.
We also welcome others who have an interest in brewing and drinking quality beer, mead, and ciders.
Several Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) certified beer judges are active members and are available for direct feedback on your homebrew creations. We also have members who have gone on to become professional brewers and some who are authors of home brewing books, periodicals, and other published works.
